Build Your CRE Broker Belief Ladder

Most brokers fail to reach seven figures not because they lack motivation or work ethic. They fail because they’re operating from the wrong belief system.

But of course, you can’t just flip a switch and adopt these new beliefs. I get that.
Your brain won’t accept something it currently rejects as impossible.
This is where the belief ladder comes in.
How to build your belief ladder:
A belief ladder is a tool I created to help brokers understand the levels of belief required to achieve what they want. It works by building one belief on top of another until you reach the goal that currently feels impossible.
Here’s how it works: When you write down your goal, ask yourself these aligning questions:
- What is possible when it comes to this goal?
- What is available to me?
- What do I believe about myself when it comes to this goal?
- What do I believe about others and how that impacts how I work and show up?
Let me give you a real example of my own.
My current goal is to work more on the business instead of inside it, allowing for more downtime so creativity, new ideas, and ingenuity can grow the business.
Here’s my belief ladder:
- The belief I’m working on right now: I can step back from day-to-day operations and The Massimo Group will continue to grow.
- The belief that needs to keep going: Everything we’ve built has compounding value. The systems, content, and processes we have will work without me being in every detail.
- Next level belief: When I create space for strategy instead of execution, I’ll attract exceptional platinum clients who are exactly who we want to work with.
- Next belief: Those platinum clients will refer others like them, allowing us to grow organically with premium clients only.
- Next belief: This sustainable growth model is not only possible, it’s inevitable when I’m patient with the process but ruthless about protecting my time and energy.
Notice something important here. Each belief builds on the previous one. I can’t believe the fifth statement until I believe the first four.
This is why motivation fails. You can’t motivate yourself into believing something your brain rejects as impossible.
The belief that changes everything
Every deal you lose, you lose because one of these beliefs didn’t lock into place. The prospect didn’t believe the pain was real, the solution was unique, the cost of doing nothing was high enough, or that solving this problem would change their world.
It wasn’t price. It wasn’t timing. It was belief.
Your job is not to convince someone to sell their property. Your job is to be in front of them, be a resource, and always be around. That way, when they do decide to sell, there’s no question who they’re going to work with.
But you can’t build belief in your prospects if you haven’t built it in yourself first.
Build your ladder one rung at a time. Every belief you shift changes the actions you take. Every action you take changes the results you get.
